Ege Port Kuşadası & Bodrum Cruise Port Renew Safe Tourism Certificates for the Season Start
Ege Port Kuşadası & Bodrum Cruise Port have fulfilled the requirements to renew their Safe Tourism Certificates. After undergoing a detailed audit, both ports are in line with the regulations and the framework of the “Safe Tourism Certificate Program.” This accreditation is proof of Ege Port Kuşadası’s and Bodrum Cruise Port’s commitment to providing a safe start to cruise tourism.
Turkey-Greece sea borders reopened in August for Technical Calls, followed by the same permission for yachts. The announcement states that Greece is permitting cruise vessels to call non-EU ports for “Technical Call” purposes during their Greece itineraries. In this respect, if cruise vessels arrive in countries (such as Turkey) where special restrictive measures apply during their itineraries, they are allowed to continue their journey upon return to Greek territory, without docking in Greek ports. However, if passengers do not disembark during the arrival and there is no interference with passengers in these countries, upon return to Greek territory, cruise vessels are allowed to continue their voyage in Greek ports after sending relevant written information to the competent port authorities by the captain, at least three hours before arrival at a Greek port.
Aziz Güngör, GPH Regional Director of East Med and Ege Port Kuşadası General Manager, commented: “We are ready to welcome cruise passengers as soon as the water borders open between Greece and Turkey for regular cruise calls. Our ports in Bodrum and Kuşadası are open and continue operations. It is of utmost importance to provide the best and safest services to our guests during these times.”
